Other Vehicles
In the following are a range of alternative vehicles which we can hire in for the use on a funeral.  Many of these travel from across the country, so the availability may be limited at the time of booking.

Hand Drawn Hearse

The solid timber Victorian Hand Hearse is suitable for the use on village funerals where the distances involved are not too great.  The normal procedure is for the delivery of the deceased to the starting address in a closed hearse, as shown in the hearse section to the right, and then the use of the hand drawn through the village.

Land Rover Defender Hearse and Car

Finished in Zambezi Silver the matching 130 based Hearse, and 110 County Station Wagon XS offer an alternative for those who have had the Land Rover connection throughout their own life.  The vehicles travel from Harrold, Bedfordshire, and can be used as a Hearse only, a Limousine only, a pair, or any combination with our own Silver Rolls-Royce fleet.

1950’s Vintage Lorry
This classic vehicle offers a further option to those wishing to use something other than our Rolls-Royce Hearse.  It is a 1950 Leyland Beaver, and has been popular for those people who have worked with such machines throughout their lives.  It offers an excellent showcase for floral displays when required, as the owner creates special platforms to give the best display possible.  The vehicle travels from Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire.
Steam Engine
This steam driven traction engine is owned by The Hammond family, farmers of North Nottingham, and was originally purchased in the 1940’s to help with the heavy work of ploughing un farmed land.  It was previously based in Rempstone, where it was again used for farmwork.  Now restored to show condition, it no longer farms, but can be hired in when desired by any family.
Vintage 1931 Austin 6/16 hearse
This early 1930’s hearse has recently been fully restored and is used regularly on funerals.  It is based in London, so any booking will require advanced notice, and the added cost of transporting it to our premises.
Vintage 1933 Austin 20 hearse
This hearse is again based in London, and as such bookings are subject to availability.
