A.W. Lymn The Craftsmen in Stone have, over the years, worked closely with various organisations to provide individual memorials and statues. Most recently we were privileged to work alongside The Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Victoria Cross Committee to produce a memorial commemorating all 20 Victoria Cross holders who were either born in, or laid to rest in Nottinghamshire.
This was installed in the grounds of Nottingham Castle and was dedicated on 7th May 2010. It is the only county wide memorial in England at present.
Blessed Antonio Rosmini
In 2007 we worked with Our Lady’s Convent in Loughborough to reproduce a statue of ‘The Blessed Antonio Rosmini’ to be placed in the grounds of the newly built convent. A clay statue was produced for approval before the final marble statue was carved by hand from a single block of marble.
Clifton War Memorial
In 2010 we were involved with a project to commemorate the late Lance Corporal Kieron Hill who lost his life fighting for his country in Afghanistan in 2009. The memorial is situated in the heart of Clifton in a specially designed memorial garden.
Fire Fighters and Civil Defence
A.W. LymnThe Craftsmen in Stone was honoured to be chosen to supply a York Stone memorial in memory to Fire-fighters and Civic Defence personnel from the City and County who lost their lives whilst on duty. The memorial was unveiled on Thursday 9th May 2013 by HRH The Princess Royal.
St Barnabas Cathedral
A.W. Lymn have worked for many years with St Barnabas Cathedral and in March 2015 we were honoured to replace all the existing memorials with one memorial.
Victoria Cross Memorial
